GTA 6 has generated an estimated $630 million from pre-orders according to analytics firm Sensor Tower. The estimate is based on 6.45 million pre-orders across PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. Neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive has shared official pre-order figures.

PS5 accounts for 74 percent of pre-orders while Xbox makes up 26 percent. Sensor Tower estimates 4.8 million PS5 copies worth $468 million and 1.66 million Xbox copies worth $162 million.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick described pre-order performance as exceptional and unprecedented during the Q1 FY2027 earnings call in August. He told CNBC that pre-orders exceeded company expectations, including demand for the $100 Ultimate Edition.

Newzoo reported in mid-July that GTA 6 had the strongest opening week of any pre-order campaign, with digital pre-order revenue estimated at $180 million. The Standard Edition costs $80 while the Ultimate Edition is $100.
