Lego confirms official Daft Punk set based on 2007 Alive tour pyramid stage
The set originated from a fan submission to Lego Ideas by Patrick Harbourn and his son in 2024.
Lego announced a partnership with Daft Punk on Thursday that will bring an official Daft Punk set to market. The set recreates the pyramid stage from the duo's 2007 Alive tour.
The product originated as a fan submission to the Lego Ideas program. Patrick Harbourn and his son designed and submitted the set in 2024. It won the grand prize in Lego Ideas' Music to Our Ears challenge in 2020.
Harbourn said the project started as a creative escape during lockdown. He and his son built it because of their shared love of Daft Punk and Lego building. He said they never imagined it would become part of an official collaboration.
The partnership launched with a short film set to two Daft Punk tracks, Voyager from Discovery and Human After All. Lego said the partnership will include additional products, content and brand experiences beyond this initial set.
The submission spent several years in what Lego Ideas calls the Parking Lot, where selected product ideas get extra review time before a final decision. Daft Punk split up as a musical act in 2021 but continues as a brand and trademark.
