Enshrouded reaches version 1.0 with expanded map and new building system
The survival game added the final third of its planned map plus outer areas and introduced Sparkwork, a system for programming base mechanics.
Enshrouded released its version 1.0 update on October 15, completing the game's full map and adding new systems. Developer Keen Games opened the final third of the planned map along with previously inaccessible outer areas beyond the original boundaries.
The update introduced Sparkwork, a new system that allows players to program furniture and mechanisms in their bases. Players can create commands like activating switches to control lights, doors, and water sources without physical circuits. The system works on-screen regardless of distance or power requirements.
New building elements include electric firing traps, spike floors, opening and closing platforms, and a spawner that summons specified monsters with customizable timing and strength. Players can create custom dungeons and share them with other players through the existing map upload and download system.
The combat system received major changes, particularly for ranged and magic abilities. Wand attacks now include a charge attack option, expanding combat options beyond basic projectile firing.
