A massive LEGO set based on Godzilla has been spotted in a store after prematurely ending up on shelves weeks ahead of its expected November 2026 launch. The packaging identifies the set as LEGO Ideas 21375 Godzilla, an 18+ model with 5,363 pieces.

The set originated as a LEGO Ideas project from fan designer Matthew Esposito, known as MattE720 on the platform. He submitted the project in December 2023 and it reached the required 10,000 supporters by October 2024. LEGO selected it for product development in June 2025, confirming Esposito would work with LEGO designers on the commercial version.

The final design differs considerably from Esposito's original submission. The retail version stands much more upright and features altered proportions, extensively reworked shaping, and large bright blue dorsal plates. The original model had a more forward-leaning posture, a stockier silhouette, and predominantly dark dorsal plates.

The piece count is substantially larger than the roughly 2,500 to 3,000 piece estimate Esposito previously gave for his fan model. The confirmed piece count makes Godzilla the sixth largest LEGO set released in 2026, slotting between the 5,682-piece Venetian Neighbourhood and the 4,851-piece Ninjago set.
