Bungie plans to restore vaulted Destiny 2 content by early 2028
Bungie will bring back Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken campaigns along with associated activities, but the restoration work will take until early 2028.
Bungie announced plans to restore content that was previously removed from Destiny 2 through the Destiny Content Vault. Head of Product Josh Deane confirmed in the October 29 Community Update that the first phase will focus on bringing back the Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken campaigns.
The restoration will include associated Strikes, Raids, and Raid Lairs from those campaigns. The Menagerie activity will also return with reprised rewards. Bungie said all restored content will be available to every Destiny 2 player.
The studio removed entire campaigns and activities that players had previously paid for when it introduced the Destiny Content Vault. Bungie cited difficulties in maintaining the game's growing amount of content as the reason for the decision.
The work involved in restoring the missing campaigns and activities is expected to continue until early 2028. Players who have already waited years for this content to return will face another lengthy wait before the restoration is complete.
