The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster launches on Switch and Switch 2 May 13, 2027
NIS America announced the western release date for the storybook adventure game from the developers of The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince.
NIS America announced that The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster will release on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on May 13, 2027. The game originally launched in Japan this year as Shinigami Hime to Ishokan no Kaibutsu.
The storybook adventure comes from the developers of The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince and The Cruel King and the Great Hero. The game follows Mono, a young girl whose sister contracts Paper Mortis, a magical disease that turns people into picture books and picture books into monsters.
Mono makes a contract with Mรคr, a monster seeking vengeance, to traverse the Libratarium where her sister is kept. Players dive into different storybooks to learn the tales of the girls who became them, solving puzzles and fighting bosses.
The game features hand-drawn art designed to look like a picture book. A Limited Edition will include a physical game copy, original soundtrack CD, art grimoire, pin set, wooden memomark, and storybook heroes acrylic stand.
