Bungie reveals what sunset Destiny 2 content returns first
The studio will unvault Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken campaigns along with their raids and strikes as the initial set.
Bungie announced it will begin unvaulting previously removed Destiny 2 content in groups, starting with early campaign content that will be free for all players. The studio removed this content due to massive file sizes, low player count, and mechanical obsolescence.
The first wave includes story missions from Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken campaigns. The raids, raid lairs, and strikes from these expansions will also return. New players previously had to watch YouTube videos or read lore documents to understand what happened in early Destiny 2.
Bungie acknowledged the effort required to bring back this content but said their clarity is refreshing after years of being unclear about behind-the-scenes developments. The studio is also hinting at Destiny's future with reimagined Destiny 1 content and upcoming plans.
Destiny 2 has struggled with its MMO format, which led to the shutdown of early activities including entire campaigns players paid for. The situation contributed to the game's slowed development.
