Donald Glover will star in and direct a live-action series adaptation of PUBG for Netflix. The Emmy winner is writing and executive producing the project with his brother Stephen Glover.

The series stems from a first-look deal Netflix made with Korean video game publisher Krafton. Netflix brought Donald Glover onto the project after lengthy negotiations.

Michael Schaefer for Neon TV, Fam Udeorji for Gilga, and Taeseok Jang and Sujin Lee for Krafton's LV3H are also executive producing. Donald and Stephen Glover previously collaborated on FX's Atlanta, where both served as writers and executive producers.

Donald Glover in 2021 left FX for an exclusive overall deal at Amazon MGM Studios. The pact has since been renewed as first-look, allowing him to work with other studios. He remains an executive producer on Amazon's Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

PUBG debuted in 2017 and has set seven Guinness World Records. Krafton in 2020 announced plans for PUBG movie and TV series projects. An animated series from Castlevania executive producer Adi Shankar was announced in 2021 but has had no updates since.
