Starbucks launches Black Cat Frappuccino for Halloween
The chocolate cake-flavored drink comes with whipped cream and chocolate cat ears.
Starbucks launches the Black Cat Frappuccino on October 22 at select U.S. locations. The drink is designed to taste like rich chocolate cake and features whipped cream topped with chocolate cat ears.
The frappuccino is crème-based with no coffee, allowing the deep cocoa flavors to stand out. Allrecipes editor Bailey Fink describes it as ultra-indulgent with chocolate that tastes darker than mocha, almost like an Oreo.
Starbucks also releases the Venti Black Night Cookie alongside the drink. The cookie contains black cocoa powder, caramel fudge pieces, and caramelized white chocolate chips.
Fans responded enthusiastically to the announcement on Instagram. One fan wrote they plan to get the drink every day once it comes out. Another called it the best thing Starbucks has ever done.
