Apple is expanding its partnership with Qnity Electronics, headquartered in Delaware, to produce technology for the variable aperture in the iPhone 18 Pro camera system. The company describes this as the most advanced camera system Apple has ever made.
The partnerships are part of Apple's American Manufacturing Program, launched last year to bring advanced manufacturing and component production to the United States. Apple committed $600 billion over four years to U.S. manufacturing and innovation.
Apple works with suppliers in all 50 states and supports more than 450,000 American jobs. Sabih Khan, Apple's chief operating officer, said American ingenuity is vital to all Apple products, from titanium for iPhone Duo to camera innovations in iPhone 18 Pro.
