Nintendo Switch Sports Resort launches on October 22 with 12 motion-controlled sports. The game serves as a successor to Wii Sports Resort from the Wii era.

The 12 sports include archery, basketball, table tennis, golf, bowling, wakeboarding, power cruising, thumb wrestling, boxing, prop plane, volleyball, and skateboarding. Thumb wrestling and skateboarding are new additions to the series, while most others return from Wii Sports Resort. The game also includes a Jump Rope fitness game.

Nintendo announced the game in June 2026 and released a launch trailer showing gameplay footage across all 12 sports. The game showcases Joy-Con controllers by using motion controls instead of traditional button layouts.

Switch Sports Resort offers 12 sports compared to eight in Nintendo Switch Sports, a 50 percent increase. Reviews indicate the game is the best the series has been since the original Wii Sports, though it does not recapture the exact magic of that pack-in title.
