Sony announces transparent PS5 DualSense controllers and console covers in Prism Collection
The collection features three color options with see-through designs launching February 2027.
Sony has announced the Prism Collection of transparent PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers and console covers. The collection includes three color options: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray.
The accessories feature a see-through design that shows the internal technology of the controller and console. PlayStation design team member Leo Cardoso said the company wanted to bring back the transparent trend from the late 1990s in a modern way that fits the PS5's design.
The high-gloss clear finish extends across the back of the controller, while a metallic finish on the middle cover creates a premium appearance. Design team member Satoshi Aoyagi said the three colors were carefully selected, with the orange taking on a rosy hue where the transparent material overlaps, the green gaining depth through its transparency, and the gray presenting a cool-toned storm aesthetic.
The Prism Collection launches on February 4, 2027, with pre-orders starting November 10. The DualSense controllers will cost $84.99, while the console covers will cost $74.99.
