The BBC published an article asking if playing through Jason and Lucia's relationship in GTA 6 counts as cheating on a real-life partner. The article notes that because players choose whether Jason and Lucia are romantic, making them date, flirt, shop and work out together could be seen as cheating.

A YouGov survey of 4,114 adults found that four percent of men and seven percent of women would consider it cheating. 75 percent of men and 70 percent of women said it would not be cheating, though 13 percent of men and 24 percent of women said they would be uncomfortable with it.

Gamers responded with mockery across social media. The BBC article received 289 comments in under 12 hours, more than many of its other articles.

Jason and Lucia's Bonnie-and-Clyde-inspired relationship has been one of the biggest talking points ahead of GTA 6's launch. The game releases in one month.
