Backrooms director Kane Parsons teases three dream projects while wearing Valve hoodie
Parsons says he is working on three dream projects in early stages and has visited Valve twice this year.
Kane Parsons says he is currently working on three dream projects. The Backrooms director made the comment in a clip posted by podcaster Kyle Buchanan, adding that he cannot specify further or "they'll get me with their space lasers." He clarified the projects are still early on and he is "in an information phase."
Parsons wore a Valve hoodie during the interview. He has visited Valve at least twice this year according to his Instagram stories, once in June and again in September. He previously called working on a Portal film his "dream" in a May interview with The New York Times.
The director cited the Portal games as a major inspiration for Backrooms and its sterile aesthetic. Beyond a confirmed Backrooms sequel, speculation has grown that he may helm a Portal movie given his public fandom of Valve and recent visits to the company.
Parsons has been teasing some sort of collaboration with the Portal developer and posted a picture of a valve in the original orientation on his social media.
