Apple TV releases Nocturne this week, a psychological thriller series that adapts the best-selling crime novels The Sandman and Lazarus by Lars Kepler. Lars Kepler is the pen name of Swedish writing duo Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril, whose Joona Linna novels have sold millions of copies worldwide.

The series stars Liv Schreiber as Jonah Lynn, a former soldier working as a homicide detective who leaves Philadelphia for a small Pennsylvanian town. He hopes to build a quieter life away from the dangerous streets.

His plans fall apart when his community comes under threat from Jurek Walter, a serial killer. The killer is described as diabolically cunning and could be orchestrating murders while imprisoned.

As his investigation intensifies, Jonah confronts a nightmare that threatens his new community. The series joins Apple TV's lineup of acclaimed thrillers including Slow Horses and Presumed Innocent.
