GTA 6 has recorded the highest purchase intent in Circana's tracking history, with 29% of U.S. console and PC gamers planning to buy the game. The figure puts the upcoming release at the top of Circana's most anticipated games ahead of its November 19 launch.

Mat Piscatella, Circana's video games industry analyst, called GTA 6 a rare cultural and commercial moment for the video game industry. Players have waited over a decade for a sequel to Rockstar's last entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.

Piscatella expects demand to extend beyond the game itself to consoles, accessories, and gaming subscriptions. The analyst anticipates the game will drive software sales, hardware upgrades, and gaming-related tech purchases throughout the fourth quarter.

The launch arrives during the prime holiday shopping season, which could give console and accessory sales a significant boost. Some players may need to buy more than a copy of the game to join the game's protagonists Jason and Lucia in the fictional state of Leonida.
