Nintendo announced that November 1 will be known as Pikmin Day, an annual celebration of the puzzle-strategy franchise. Shigeru Miyamoto revealed the news in a video alongside updates for Pikmin 4 and Pikmin Bloom.

Miyamoto explained that November 1 was chosen because the date 11.1 resembles the original red, yellow, and blue Pikmin standing side by side. He also revealed a new project called Hello! Pikmin that he is collaborating on with Nintendo Pictures.

The Hello! Pikmin series will feature new animated shorts released through the Nintendo Today app and other channels. Nintendo Pictures plans to release one video per month. Miyamoto showed a short featuring a red Pikmin attempting to steal a baseball from a toad.

Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition arrives in November with new Dandori Academy content. The game features voice commands for Oatchi using the Switch 2's built-in microphone. Dandori Academy mode adds new challenges with limited-time exams released every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with 72 stages planned over time.

Pikmin Bloom is getting a new Secret Caves feature this winter. The feature lets players send Pikmin into caves to battle enemies and collect treasure for a new in-game collection. A free demo of Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches on November 2.
