Kobe McDonald has been named to the PwC Football All-Star team after Mayo won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship for the first time in 75 years. McDonald is one of six Mayo players selected to the 15-player squad.
Mayo dominates the All-Star selection with defensive players Sam Callinan and Enda Hession, forwards Darragh Beirne and McDonald, and Jack Carney and Ryan O'Donoghue completing the county's representation. The team features players from eight different counties, the most diverse selection since 2010.
Kerry's David Clifford collected his seventh All-Star award, matching Mikey Sheehy's total. Only Colm Cooper with eight awards and Pat Spillane with nine have won more All-Stars in Kerry careers. Kerry placed three players on the team including Clifford, Jason Foley at full-back, and goalkeeper Shane Murphy.
The selection includes 11 first-time All-Star winners, the highest number of debutants since 2022. Other notable selections include Westmeath's Ronan Wallace at wing-back, Louth's Dara McDonnell at centre-back, and Armagh's Jarly รg Burns bringing his club Silverbridge its first All-Star.
