The song earned 4.6 million streams, 1 million in radio airplay audience impressions and 1,000 sales in the US during the October 16-22 tracking week. It soundtracks the entirety of the GTA 6 launch trailer, which has accumulated over 69 million views since posting on October 15.

French electronic duo Justice reached out to King Gizzard two years ago about contributing to GTA 6, for which they are composing the original score. Frontman Stu Mackenzie said the band sent six songs that sounded like T-Rex with harmonica, hand percussion and piano glissandos.

Flower in a Hurricane is the ninth release from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, a 34-song soundtrack due November 19. Two other soundtrack songs have reached the Hot 100: Morgan Wallen's Last Thing You Need peaked at number 9 and Travis Scott's Rhyno debuted at number 84. King Gizzard formed in Melbourne in 2010 and has released 28 albums.
