Apple iPhone 18e specs leak with 24-megapixel selfie camera upgrade
The iPhone 18e will feature a 24-megapixel front camera, A20 chip, and 6.12-inch OLED display when it launches in early 2027.
Apple iPhone 18e will launch in early 2027 as an affordable entry point to the iPhone 18 family. The device will feature a 6.12-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, maintaining Apple's strategy of reserving higher refresh rates for premium models.
The phone will be powered by the A20 chip, a 2nm processor that sits below the A20 Pro in the iPhone 18 Pro. The A20 lacks the dual neural engine found in the Pro version and includes 9GB RAM with one fewer GPU core than its premium counterpart.
The standout upgrade is a 24-megapixel FaceTime camera, up from the previous generation, while the rear maintains a single 48-megapixel camera. The improved front camera will enable Centre Stage functions for better group selfies and video calls.
The iPhone 18e will keep the same design as the iPhone 17e. The 2nm chip will deliver improved battery efficiency from the existing battery cell. Apple may announce the device alongside the iPhone Air, a slim premium model with dual rear cameras and the A20 Pro chip.
