Amazon Prime Video will move forward with its Mass Effect TV show despite EA shutting down BioWare. IGN confirmed with sources at Prime Video that the series remains in production with all previously attached creatives still on board.

EA announced the closure of BioWare and canceled the Mass Effect game that was announced six years ago. Neither EA nor BioWare mentioned the TV show in their statements, leading fans to assume it would also be canceled.

The series will take place after the original Mass Effect trilogy starring Commander Shepard. BioWare confirmed this timeline last year on N7 Day, explaining that the games were meant to capture the player's story and without the player that story should not be retold.

Amazon MGM Studios is developing the live-action adaptation. Not much else is known about the series at this time.
