Kai Cenat discovers Samsung had foldable phones years before iPhone Duo
The streamer asked a fan in Japan if their Samsung foldable was the new iPhone Duo and expressed surprise when learning Samsung released foldables in 2019.
Kai Cenat spotted a fan's foldable phone during a livestream from Japan and asked if it was the iPhone Duo. When the owner explained it was a Samsung, Cenat responded with surprise and said he might switch to Samsung.
Samsung users pointed out that the company unveiled its original Galaxy Fold in February 2019 and put it on sale that September, seven years before Apple's first foldable arrived. One user wrote that Apple fans watching Cenat discover Samsung features that have existed for years are about to have a rough day.
Both phones follow the same basic idea with an outer screen that opens like a book to reveal a larger tablet-like display. Samsung's first Fold could display three apps at once, while the iPhone Duo supports two side by side with picture-in-picture video available.
Samsung has released several generations since 2019, with its current lineup including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra. The clip from Cenat's Japan stream accumulated millions of views.
