valyn initially had a verbal agreement with LYON that was contingent on the organization securing partnership status for 2027 and 2028. After LYON missed out on partnership and withdrew from Valorant esports, the move fell through and Fnatic secured the four-time VCT Americas champion.
valyn is expected to join Fnatic alongside Kajetan 'kaajak' Haremski, Kirill 'Cloud' Nekhozhin, and Martin 'marteen' PΓ‘tek as part of the organization's rebuild. Cloud, who took a break from IGLing during his 2026 stint with Fnatic, is expected to step aside from the role to make room for valyn's leadership.
valyn leaves G2 after three years and eight straight international appearances. He secured the 2024 Stage 2 awards for IGL of the Year and Controller of the Year, and won the 2025 Stage 2 Controller of the Year and Grand Finals MVP awards.
Jake 'Boaster' Howlett has confirmed he is exploring options for 2027, and Austin 'crashies' Roberts has also departed from Fnatic. G2 thanked valyn for helping put G2 Valorant back on the map.
