Fortnite Sprites won't return for Chapter 8 according to leaks

Fortnite leaker Blortzen posted on X that the Sprite system will be scrapped when Chapter 8 kicks off in December. The leaker says almost all extraction files, including core functions, are set to leave when Chapter 8 releases.

Epic Games introduced Sprites in Chapter 7 as a new collectable element, with each Sprite having specific effects and a variety of rarities to collect. The system has proven popular in the community.

The extraction and Sprite features look set to remain for the mini-season ending Chapter 7, which kicks off November 1. The same files are present for next month's mini-season.

Sprites could be reintroduced to Fortnite later down the line, either with the same collectable system or with an entirely new approach. Chapter 8 launches in less than six weeks.
