Cyberpunk 2077 gets update 2.5 with new cyberware customization and dual-wielding

CD Projekt Red announced Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077, timed to coincide with the second season of Cyberpunk Edgerunners. The update launches October 22 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The update includes new items and features inspired by the anime's second season. CD Projekt Red said it will add cyberware customization, a new dual-wielding playstyle, and more content. Associate game director Pawel Sasko posted he is "so f***ing hyped" to show what the studio has been working on.

The studio will host a livestream preview of Update 2.5 on Wednesday at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. The presentation will show a closer look at the features coming to the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 has passed 40 million copies sold as of July 3, 2026. The original Edgerunners anime debuted in 2022 and is credited with reviving interest in the game, leading to a previous update that added Edgerunners-inspired cosmetics that same year.
